The Annual Meeting, Banquet & Election of the ACLU's Quad-Cities chapter will be 6:30 p.m. on Friday, March 12, 2010 at the Renwick Mansion, 901 Tremont Avenue, Davenport, Iowa. The banquet will feature a pasta buffet by Diane DeBord catering. Iowa governor Chet Culver is an invited guest along with State Senator Herman Quirmbach speaker on the state legislature and civil rights issues and also Todd McGreevy, the publisher of the River Cities Reader, will also be speaking to us.

The Banquet, Annual Meeting & Election will be a good opportunity to meet the people who do most of the work of our chapter and express your opinion on how we can do better at fulfilling our mission. The banquet will cost $15.00 per person. If you want to attend this event, please send a check made out to ACLU QC and mail it to ACLU Quad Cities, 325 Forest Road, Davenport IA 52803 in time for us to receive it by March 5.

We will also be giving away the Elfrieda Hershal Award to Maggie Tinsman; for her work passing laws that will seek to prevent human trafficking in Iowa, Attorney Tommy Miller; for working without pay for several years at the Davenport legal aid society, and lastly but not least to Tod McGreavy and ####; editors and owners of the Reader Newspaper, for their constant publishings on civil rights.
