The Quad-Cities Chapter of the ACLU
The purpose of the ACLU is to promote, defend and support the Bill of Rights. At the national and state levels, there are legislative, educational and legal programs to foster the purposes of the ACLU. At the level of a small chapter of volunteers, like the Quad Cities Chapter, we provide a local presence for the organization, respond to local civil liberties inquiries, and support the Bill of Rights.
What are the 2009 goals for the ACLU’s Quad-Cities Chapter? What do you think they ought to be? Visit our Forum and let us know what you think. We want to hear from you.
At our February 13 Annual Meeting we elected the 2009 ACLU Quad Cities Board of Directors and Officers. We also ratified our new By-Laws. More information is on our News page.
Join us! The more members we have, the more effective we’ll be. This is true for our work on the local, state and national level. Rock Island county residents who join the Illinois ACLU and Scott or Clinton county residents who join the Iowa ACLU will be automatically enrolled as members of the Quad-Cities Chapter of the ACLU. Here is a link to the membership page of the Illinois ACLU and here’s one to the membership page of the Iowa ACLU.
